Ozoni

Ozoni is New Year's soup bowl with mochi; rice cake inside.  It varies very much depends on the region and family.  I usually take the stock with dashi with chicken.  We usually use round mochi rather than square shape as the photo above but round shape is not available in Singapore..

「お雑煮」熊本のお雑煮は本来違う物だと思うが、実家のお雑煮がこんな感じだったので、私もいつもこんな感じで作る。出汁は昆布と鰹に鶏。ただ餅は絶対丸もちなので、角餅だと正月っぽさがないと感じる。
