Tiong Bahru

The other day, a friend of mine introduced me a district of "Tiong Bahru" to have coffee.  This district is only series of HDB; public apartment built in 1930s, with small cafes and shops.  I immediately fell in love with Art deco ambience.

「チョンバル」友人がお気に入りのところとして紹介してくれた地域。１９３０年代に建てられた団地がある住宅街でアールデコ調の雰囲気がいい。最近おしゃれになりつつあるらしい。その中のとても雰囲気のいいカフェに入った。扇風機のかかるベンチでゆっくり本が読める空間だ。 静かでノストラジックで、一気のこの街が好きになった。
