Kirishima Onsen - Kayotei

My mother and I had visited Kirishima in Kagoshima for the first time.  Kirishima is in the deep mountain north of Kagoshima and it's famous for it's Onsen.  Kirishima Onsen Kyo is a gathering of many groups of Onsen in the region.

The Onsen was one of the most impressive ones I've ever visited.  The Onsen situated in the deep mountain along a beautiful river and its view was wonderful.  However, I'm not very much a fan of Kagoshima regional foods.  They have a great quality of ingredients as vegetables, fish and pork, yet the seasoning is slightly sweet for me.

「霧島温泉」母と初めて霧島温泉に行ってみた。熊本と鹿児島は隣県だが、意外と距離があるので、容易に行き来することがないように思う。霧島温泉郷は大分の別府に並ぶ、昔から有名な温泉地だ。中心には高度成長期に流行った大型ホテルがあるが、周りにも無数の温泉旅館がある。

泊まった華耀亭の湯の質は他に類をみないほど素晴らしかった。川沿いの露天は最高のロケーションで、湯船も深くとても良かった。ただ、鹿児島のお料理の味付けが私はあまり好みではない。食材は野菜、魚、黒豚ととても良いが、味付けが甘いのだ。これは鹿児島の郷土の味なのである意味仕方がない。焼酎と一緒に楽しんだ。
