Oama - Kumamoto

I happened to visit Oama in Kumamoto for the first time.  I was very surprised to find there is such a wonderful place very close to my home.  Kumamoto is a city facing the sea but I was always going to other places when I go out to see the sea.

There is a nice Onsen on the top of the hill in Oama.  The view from Onsen was amazing.  We could see "Fugendake" mountain in Unzen.

「小天・熊本」玉名の小天に初めて行ってみた。小天は夏目漱石の草枕の舞台となった場所として知られている。我が家は海に行く時は三角〜天草に行っていたので、熊本側にこのような風景がある所が身近にあるとは気付かなかった。私はこののどかな海辺の景色が大変気に入った。

小高い山は一面みかん畑になって「河内みかん」という有名なみかんの産地だ。みかん山は石垣が棚に作られていて情緒がある。この景色の全貌を眺める立ち寄り温泉が山の上にある。このこの日は天気がよく、雲仙の普賢岳がよく見えた。
