New Years Eve

I followed traditional Japanese way of celebrating new years eve this year.  I prepared Osechi and prepared Soba noodle.  It's a tradition to eat Soba this day in Japan.  Since Japan is the only asian country to celebrate new year in western calendar,  I feel very alone to do the celebration by myself.  I think this is the same feeling for many Japanese lives overseas.

「大晦日・年越しそば」今年は夫もクリスマスからお休みが続いていたので、二人で穏やかな年越しを迎えることが出来た。お節を用意し、おそばとかき揚げを作った。早々にシャンパンをあけてしまったので、お節料理をおつまみに。

日本人は西暦で新年のお祝いをするので、なんだかいつも１人でお祝いすることになるのが少し寂しく感じる。香港の西暦の新年は欧米のように、カウントダウンの年越しパーティーをすることが多い。
