Hanshobu

May is the season of Shobu.  My home in Kumamoto is very close to the lake Ezu so I found many of those flowers by the water.  There are three types of these flowers; Ayame, Hanashobu and Kakitsubata.  I'm not really sure which ones are these.  I think the first photo is Hanashoubu and the blow is Hanashoubu or Kakitsubata.

「ハナショウブ」熊本は水の都と言われていて、湧き水と地下水に恵まれている。湧き水から出来た江津湖周辺には、沢山のショウブの花の郡があった。私はこの形の花を見ると尾形光琳の燕子花図が先ず頭に思い浮かぶ。身近な光景がいかにも日本的な風景美だと思い知らされる。

ところで、私はこの花がハナショウブかカキツバタなのかがよく分からない。多分両方ともにアヤメではないだろう。上の写真がハナショウブで、下がカキツバタ或はハナショウブの種類なのではないだろうか。
